What is it about?

Seasonal influenza has been known to spread among school-aged children. However, it is unclear what proportion of children with influenza-like illness will actually receive a diagnosis of influenza. To answer these simple questions, we conducted an epidemiological study.

Why is it important?

Through quantitative analysis, we were able to determine the proportion of children diagnosed with seasonal influenza among those with influenza-like illness. This finding will help bridge the gap in proportions between children with flu-like symptoms and those who are actually diagnosed with influenza.

Perspectives

This study has important implications for several fields, including the preparation of medical resources and infection control strategies. Additionally, the findings of this study can be useful in promoting school health planning.
