What is it about?
Women attending cervical cancer screening remains low in Brunei, a Southeast Asian & Muslim majority country. In this study, we tried to find out why using a survey. Also, we offered HPV self-sampling to our participants to see how acceptable is it as an alternative.

Why is it important?
Cervical cancer is one of the top 10 cause of female deaths in Brunei. This pilot study serves as the starting point for public health decision makers to assess how useful the switch from traditional pap smear testing to HPV genotyping could be, in the local context.
