What is it about?
Quality tissue is critical to delivering cancer patients the most accurate diagnoses. However, there are currently no reliable way to detect tissue quality. In this work, we have successfully demonstrated a first-of-its-kind method to assess the quality of fixation in real-time.

Why is it important?
This work demonstrated that tissue can be optimally preserved in real-time. This will enable labs to improve tissue quality and potentially decrease time to result. More precise tissue fixation will also be an enabler for future cancer diagnostic tests.
