We are testing the applicability of benthic Foraminifera assemblages to reconstruct past water depths using transfer functions.

Why is it important?
Water depth reconstructions are complicated, and mostly based on easily disturbed proxies. By providing another method to reconstruct past water depths, future palaeooceanographic studies can be more reliable.
