What is it about?

The World Health Organization was born in 1948 as a normative organization. Yet 75 years later it had negotiated and adopted only two treaties: the International Health Regulations (IHR) and the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control. This year, it is set to adopt two bold new international instruments, a revised IHR and a new Pandemic Treaty.

I have worked closely with WHO throughout my career including as director of the WHO Center on Global Health Law and a member of the IHR Review Committee. And I have been closely involved in the drafting of the Pandemic Treaty
