What is it about?
Multiple factors influence the timing of endometriosis diagnosis. Using records from 688 patients at one medical center in Lebanon, we found that infertility was linked to earlier diagnosis, while symptom severity was not always associated with faster recognition.

Why is it important?
Endometriosis remains underdiagnosed despite its major impact on quality of life, fertility, and long-term health. Given the scarcity of data in the MENA region and the persistent global challenge of diagnostic delay, identifying these predictors is essential to guide earlier evaluation, improve patient care, and reduce delays in diagnosis.
Perspectives
Contributing to this article was a meaningful milestone, particularly as the most recent endometriosis study from Lebanon dates back to the 1980s, reflecting the limited local research in this field. It was both a privilege and an honor to help establish this dataset, made possible through the dedication, collaboration, and unwavering support of my co-authors.
