Why is it important?

The direct role male plays in transmission of HPV (a cervical cancer causing virus) ,availability of male HPV vaccination and social economic support represents a fundamental shift from purely female centered models in prevention of cervical cancer to couple or gender inclusive aproach .Based on our findings, policies and programmes that target only women are inherently incomplete and will most likely be ineffective in achieving their intended purposes.

Perspectives

As a male (man) it can be unfortunate to lose your partner or a relative to cervical cancer which is preventable and controllable disease only to realize later that there is so much you could have done (or not do) before it was too late. This can be through sexual behaviour change, vaccinating your children and offering moral and financial support during cervical cancer screening.
