What is it about?

This study found that a type of throat cancer, called Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma (NPC), is more common in eastern Nepal and among certain ethnic groups like Sherpa, Limbu and Rais. Most people were diagnosed when the cancer was already advanced, which makes treatment harder. These results show the importance of raising awareness and finding the cancer earlier in these high-risk areas
