What is it about?

Recently, improvements on quality of life have become a therapeutic goal for the management of patients with several chronic diseases, with its evaluation gaining progressively importance. The present study uses cross-sectional baseline data from PEACH study to explore the association between functional capacity (quantified by cardiopulmonary exercise test) and quality of life in individuals with chronic Chagas cardiomyopathy. The associations found demonstrate the importance of cardiopulmonary exercise test inclusion for a more comprehensive evaluation of individuals with chronic Chagas cardiomyopathy.

Why is it important?

The study of the association between quality of life and functional capacity measured by cardiopulmonary exercise test can provide a more accurate and precise information of individuals with chronic Chagas cardiomyopathy, allowing the development of tailored strategies to improve quality of life in this population.

Perspectives

I hope that the results of this article can contribute to the treatment and help to increase the quality of life of patients with chronic Chagas cardiomyopathy.
