What is it about?
In this paper we present a new method for fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM) analysis. Classical methods can take hours for a single image frame whereas our new artificial neural network based method can cut this processing time nearly a thousand fold.

Why is it important?
A new method like this is of enormous importance as it will soon lead to the availability of real time fluorescence lifetime imaging, potentially even as a life movie image.
