Many factors affect where we look when searching a scene. This study measured how much of the variation in gaze can be explained by the variation in color from one point to another.

Why is it important?
Surprisingly, most research on gaze behavior in natural scenes has given little attention to color. This research showed that local scene color may have strong influence on gaze position, capturing significant aspects of scene structure on search behavior.
