What is it about?
Success in searching for a small target object in a natural scene depends on many factors. The aim of this work was to find out how detection performance is affected by the colors in scenes. Both target-detection performance and observers' eye gaze position were measured during this experiment.

It is often assumed that scene color properties may be discounted in analyzing search performance. But this study shows that color can be as important as gaze position in determining whether search is successful or not.
