What is it about?
Free vascularized fibula is a successful procedure for the treatment of large bony defects. The results of this study suggest that tobacco use increases the risk of nonunion following free fibula transfer and the use of modern fixation techniques did not reduce the risk of nonunion compared to traditional fixation.
