What is it about?
An international collaboration between centres in the UK, Belgium and the United States, this paper remains one of the largest studies in terms of reported patient outcomes and blood metal ion data. It reinforced the importance of the design of the acetabular component in conferring increased resistance/vulnerability to the effects of alignment. The paper includes volumetric wear analysis of explanted components.
