Noise from Total Hip Replacements - a case controlled study

What is it about?

Squeaking is an intriguing phenomenon but how much does this impact on a patient?

Why is it important?

Ceramic-on-Ceramic Total Hip Replacements squeak more than hard-on-soft articulations. We have quantified the patient inpact of this phenomenon and found that it is a significant hindrance for patients. This study has meant a change in the Senior Author's practise.
