What is it about?
Advanced Paramedic Practitioners in Critical Care (APPCC) are a relatively new introduction to the London Ambulance Service and although the representation of women in these roles has improved in recent years, there is still a 'lag' of women occupying these roles compared to the ambulance paramedic workforce. This study explores female paramedic's attitudes as to why there are fewer women occupying APP(CC) roles and poses some potential opportunities to improve participation.

Why is it important?
A diverse workforce is proven to improve patient care and so addressing the gender imbalance within the APP(CC) workforce may provide opportunities for improvement.
