What is it about?
We reviewed 102 Randomised controlled trials conducted over 15 years in which people with VLU were treated. We investigated what wound outcomes were measured and how they were measured. We also investigated what reference was made to the reliability and validity of these methods.

Why is it important?
Clinicians rely on evidence from RCTs to guide treatment. However, when RCTs have different outcomes, measured over different timelines, using different methods this becomes very difficult. It is important therefore to understand where the gaps are in the research. The results of this study will help in the development of a core outcome set for intervention trials in VLU. This study is now established and called CoreVen @coreven
