Why is it important?
This article is important as it demonstrates suitably trained nurses can provide high quality ophthalmic consultation with care, diagnosis and management on par with a doctor. With the acquirement of new skills, areas of practice should be evaluated to assess quality improvement.
Perspectives
Writing this article really caused me to reflect on the reason I believe this work should be shared. I did not only set out to highlight the work I do but to inspires a future generation of nurses to lead in the diagnosis and management of various condition. It was also a pleasure to have co-authors who shared my vision and agreed to be apart of the journey.
