What is it about?
The association between work environment and job satisfaction has not been clearly established among nurses in Jordan. This systematic literature review was carried out this relationship. The initial search identified 1243 studies, of which five were included in the final review, involving a total of 1489 nurse participants. The results indicated a direct or indirect association between a positive work environment and job satisfaction among nurses in Jordan. This provides further evidence that nurses are more likely to feel satisfied in their jobs if they work in healthy environments. This paper describes the nursing work environment in Jordanian healthcare settings, describe the level of job satisfaction among Jordanian nurses, and examine the relationship between work environment and job satisfaction among Jordanian nurses.

Why is it important?
The results show that nurses in Jordan will be more likely to have job satisfaction if they work in good work environments that have peer support and workload management, so that indirect work environments may be associated with higher job satisfaction through improved job performance and communication, and empowerment, administrative support and peer support are essential in their area.
