What is it about?

Since 1992 deaths in Belfast (Northern Ireland) have shown a recurring time series of periods of unexplained higher deaths. Research across the whole UK links these periods of higher deaths to periods of unexplained higher medical admissions. Outbreaks of a new type of infectious agent are implicated.
