What is it about?
The trends in admitted and non-admitted attendances at A&E are following different trajectories. The admitted trend shows unexpected evidence for periods of very rapid growth which dominates the overall trend.

So much discussion of the A&E crisis ignores the message that the actual data is attempting to shout out. The data does not lie, but our attempted explanations may inadvertently create pseudo-truths.
