Why is it important?

Many falls are caused by a loss of balance, slipping on a wet surface or tripping over a hazard. Even minor falls, trips or slips can lead to loss of dignity and adversely effect confidence and mobility.

Perspectives

Although people of all ages can suffer major injuries from a fall, older people are at an increased risk of falling.
