What is it about?
Aortic stenosis, which is a build up of calcium around the heart is one the increase with an ageing population. Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation is a procedure to treat elderly people with this condition whereby a valve is implanted over the existing valve. The article explains the anatomy of the aortic valve and nursing considerations for looking after these patients.
