What is it about?

Why is it important?

Personal and professional values can drive conflict in the veterinary environment. Understanding how values affect behaviour and attitudes is key to finding collaborative solutions and mitigating risks for moral injury, compassion fatigue and burnout.

Perspectives

People generally behave in ways that reflect their values or self-image, and yet it can be difficult to see this because we see everything through the lens of our own values. Telling someone that you understand their position and recognise their values is a powerful tool in finding common ground.
