Why is it important?

Lyme disease can result in increased mortality and morbidity if it is not identified promptly and appropriately managed with pharmacological treatment. Lifestyle advise on limited exposure to the ticks that carry Lyme Disease can minimise potential of a tick bite.

Perspectives

This is a clinical review developed from common presentations dealt with by the first author whilst employed as a primary care trainee advanced practitioner within a rural area.
