What is it about?
There's a growing number of over 65 year old people in the UK living in care homes. Careers for staff working within this sector have become more challenging. This exploratory study interviewed staff within care homes in one health board area in Scotland to understand their experiences in relation to their resilience.

Why is it important?
Our findings show that emotional factors enhance resilience within staff in care homes with laughter and happiness of both residents and staff being important factors. Resilience was seen not only at an individual level but also within effective team working.
