Why is it important?
Lyme disease can result in increased mortality and morbidity if it is not identified promptly and appropriately managed with pharmacological treatment. Lifestyle advise on limited exposure to the ticks that carry Lyme Disease can minimise potential of a tick bite.
Perspectives
This was a case study derived from clinical presentations encountered by the first author in her role as an advanced nurse practitioner trainee.
