What is it about?
An examination of British LGBTQ+ contemporary history and legislation through the lens of contemporary UK Paramedicine and emergency pre-hospital practice. This work provides a timeline for the two histories and details their surprising temporal proximity.

Why is it important?
This work provides a time frame for students and practitioners to better understand just how recent developments in these areas of history can be. This will help to better inform professional practice, especially towards LGBTQ+ patients in the pre-hospital setting.
Perspectives
I wrote this after years of explaining to colleagues just how fragile and new LGBTQ+ rights are in the UK. Paramedic Practice is seen as a new field of healthcare compared to other professions, but attitudes towards queer care amongst professionals are often based on a view that Queerphobi is a thing of the past, clashing with the lived experience of LGBTQ+ persons.
