What is it about?
Chronic osteomyelitis is a frequently seen complication of untreated dental disease. In some cases, it can become very extensive and debilitating for the patient. In an African setting it can go untreated for an extended period. In this example, traditional treatment also exacerbated the problem. Traditional treatment (car battery acid) of a decayed upper molar caused extensive destruction to the maxillary bone.
