What is it about?
A scoping of the educational needs of dermatology nurses across Scotland and Ireland was carried out. This article explains the barriers and facilitators to the provision of dermatology education and explores the future educational needs of these nurses.

Why is it important?
Dermatology nursing is an increasing speciality. Patients are presenting with more complex dermatology needs now and will be in future. This article informs policy makers and managers to consider the educational provisions required to meet these needs to enable dermatology nurses to provide safe and effective patient care.
