What is it about?

Cervical collars are used following an injury or surgery to the neck. This article looks at a number of considerations that health care professionals should make when caring for this patient group.

To ensure that patients being treated with cervical collars are treated safely and that health care professionals are aware of the risks and considerations.

Perspectives

Whilst some areas are phasing out the use of these collars, other areas are still using them, so this remains an important topic until national guidance changes to either promote or discourage their use
