What is it about?
Identifying mosquito vectors of disease requires taxonomic expertise, which is often the preserve of medical entomologists. This study used high resolution melting analysis to distinguish between closely related mosquito species, which differ in their ability to transmit viruses, such as Dengue and Yellow Fever.

Why is it important?
The eastern Africa region is the origin of many arthropod transmitted viruses (arboviruses). Knowing the diversity of vectors accurately, is an important step to understanding arbovirus epidemiology.
