What is it about?
Flow cytometry has many demonstrated applications in forensic science, particularly when analyzing intact cells within biological samples. Here, we provide a large open access flow cytometry dataset of 'touch' or trace epithelial cells collected under different circumstances and conditions.

Why is it important?
Flow cytometry can provide a fast, non-destructive way to identify individualizing forensic signatures in biological evidence. This includes determining the cell types that are present as well as the number of contributors. Signatures can then be used to resolve complex mixtures, a significant problem for DNA caseworking laboratories.
