This paper reviews the evidence for using heat to treat and prevent viral infections such as COVID-19 and discusses potential cellular, physiological and psychological mechanisms of action. It also discusses the issues involved in implementing hat based protocols in community and healthcare settings.

Why is it important?
Heat is a cheap, convenient and widely accessible therapeutic modality and this article provides evidence to show heat can be an effective strategy for dealing with respiratory viruses such as COVID-19 as well as other viral infections.
