Why is it important?
PDB files carry 3D structure information of biomolecules and allow to transfer this information from visualization software to simulation packages and many other tasks. Having a set of easily installable and usable tools to play with them allows for a significant gain of efficiency. From single command-line on a single event basis to their usage in large pipelines, the pdb-tools scripts can be associated to many daily tasks that require, or not, performances.
