What is it about?

Although the National Heart Institute, Kuala Lumpur has been using EUROScore II for the past few years to predict post-surgical mortality after coronary bypass surgery, the instrument has not been validated yet. This is the first paper that validated EUROScore II in Malaysia.

Why is it important?

This study shows that the EuroSCORE II is a good predictor of postoperative mortality of the Malaysian patients undergoing Coronary Artery Bypass (CABG) surgery and can be safely used for risk assessment.
