Why is it important?

Drowning is a silent killer in Nepal and this cause of death is often neglected because it has very short gap between the risk exposure and death. Non-fatal drowning are not considered as illness so it remains unknown - how many people were exposed to risk. Our finding shows that drowning death occur year round and throughout the country. It might help researchers interested in the field of drowning studies.

Perspectives

I am glad that we, both the authors, were able to utilise the huge data that was not utilised. Meanwhile it was our effort to highlight the problem of drowning in Nepal. I hope this article will contribute to reduce the gap of knowledge on prevailing causes of deaths of people in Nepal.
