What is it about?
This is an interdisciplinary work (because we first studied cell's activity, and then catch each of them to further analysis) where we studied in single cells with an altered activity, the expression of RNA encoding proteins (the plasma membrane calcium ATPase, or PMCA).

Why is it important?
This study permitted us to understand if a protein located in the plasma membrane (PMCA) contributes to the changes observed in the excitability of hippocampal CA1neurons, that mimics those observed in epilepsia.
