What is it about?
Today, microRNAs are of great interest to scientists as possible novel means of diagnosing and treating diseases. Our study describes the specific microRNAs associated with WNT1 signaling in bone and show that a peculiar change in certain microRNAs is present circulating blood in result of impaired WNT1 signaling.

Why is it important?
The current diagnostic and therapeutic means are insufficient in treating patients with WNT1 osteoporosis and these novel biomarkers could offer help in development of future diagnostic tools and target drugs. These findings also bring new information about the molecules regulating bone health and interacting with WNT1.
