What is it about?
The occurrence of different gonadal defects impairing fertility in human population has increased worldwide over the past decades and this phenomenon may be explained by problems in the development of somatic gonadal cells. However, studying early developmental stages of human gonads has been challenging due to lack of suitable models. We have described for the first time a protocol for differentiation of human embryonic stem cells into indifferent gonadal cells.
