What is it about?
CFD allows to compute flows characterized by the presence of shock-waves. Post-processing tools allow make shock-waves visible to the human eye, but: how do we automatically detect the shape of a discontinuity such as a shock-wave?

Why is it important?
Most of the methods used in the literature use local criteria to detect shock-waves. This approach often gives rise to false positive. The approach that we propose relies on a "global" view of the flow-field.
