What is it about?
Existing submarine telecommunication cables crisscrossing the globe can serve as a huge acoustic sensing network using advanced DAS technology. Here we show its applications for subsurface exploration using controlled seismic sources at the sea surface through field experiment in the Trondheimsfjord, Norway.
