What is it about?
Pseudo-acoustic P-wave propagation approximations are important for seismic migration without crosstalk between wave types. We have developed a new approximation that is valid for quite strong anisotropy.

Why is it important?
Separable approximations allow for implementation in the mixed space-wavenumber domain, which increases modeling speed and precision.
