What is it about?
By summing over seismic migration results for different migration velocities using some weights, one can enhance images that are in phase and cancel out images that are not in phase, in a similar fashion like in the path integrals of Feynman in quantum physics. By doing so twice with different weights, it is possible to extract velocity information associated with the in-phase images.

Why is it important?
The procedure allows for an automatic time-migration velocity-model construction without human interference.
