What is it about?
Syrian Arc folds in the Eastern Mediterranean region and their time of formation based on subsurface (seismic reflection and borehole) data as well as surface geology (outcrop) data. The timing of these structures is important for hydrocarbon exploration.

Why is it important?
Our findings show that the formation of Syrian Arc folds in the Eastern Mediterranean region was not episodic but continuous since Late Cretaceous time. This is important for hydrocarbon exploration with respect to the time of trap formation.
