What is it about?
The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) creates educational resources for Earth Science Week that center around the year’s theme. This year’s theme “Geoscience Innovating for Earth and People” allowed us to make posters, activities, and videos that highlight new technologies and procedures that geophysicists and other geoscientists now use to study the Earth. Many of these resources connect to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which allows teachers to give a real-world context to Earth science concepts and lessons.

Why is it important?
Earth Science Week (ESW) is the second full week of October every year, but the educational resources created can be used year-round in classrooms. All of the resources are free and many are available online, including the ESW webinar series recordings.
