What is it about?

Diagenetic processes in carbonate sediments generate a wide range of pore-type distributions. This is a robust petro-elastic modeling method which reduces the number of defined parameters and equations. The Xu-Payne rock physics modeling equations are replaced with an extended pore space stiffness equation.

Why is it important?

A novel and easy to implement approach for petro-elastic modeling of carbonate rocks which leads to more accurate elastic properties estimation.

Perspectives

It was a great pleasure to collaborate with the respected co-authors and also publish it in the prestigious geophysical journal of SEG; The Leading Edge.
