What is it about?

Exploring hydrocarbon in structural-stratigraphical traps is challenging due to the high lateral variation of litho-fluid facies. In addition, reservoir characterization is getting more obscure if the reservoir layers are thin and below seismic vertical resolution. The approach is particularly practical in thin reservoir layers with lateral variation of litho-fluid facies.

Why is it important?

The more accurate hydrocarbon prediction, the less reservoir uncertainties and subsequently drilling cost is optimized.

Perspectives

It was a great pleasure to collaborate with the respected co-authors and also publish it in the prestigious geophysical journal of SEG; Interpretation.
