Why is it important?
Globally, there has been an exponential increase in the number of refugees, asylum seekers, and internally displaced persons in recent years. This review brings to light the burden of oral disease in these populations and the challenges they encounter when in need of dental care. It is a useful reference document for anyone interested in the oral health of these populations.
Perspectives
The findings of this study motivated my interest to further research this often neglected aspect of health in populations that facing enormous challenges at several fronts. Hopefully, with good oral health, the individuals will be able to smile despite their daily struggles.
