What is it about?
The human microbiome consists of the microorganisms that live on and inside your body, which impact your health. How do those bugs come to be in the body in the first place? We set out to test how genes influence the microbiota in your mouth. We analyzed over 900 microbiome traits and identified six with strong evidence that genes were having an effect on, and then looked across the genome for variation that affected these.
